What To Watch: Liverpool Players on International Duty
Did you miss UEFA Nations League? Too bad, you’re getting UEFA Nations League. Here’s a look ahead to Thursday and Friday’s fixtures.
If there has been one blessing from this COVID-19 pandemic, it has been the lack of international football. Liverpool-related news is somehow even slower now than it was during lockdown.
So. I guess here’s a guide for watching some international fixtures over the next few days?
Finland vs. Wales
Thursday, Sept. 3, 7:45 PM BST
So, we start off with the most tenuous connection: once and future Liverpool loanee Harry Wilson. His Wales side travels to Finland in Group 4 of Nations League B. Bonus, you get to watch Finnish striker Teemu Pukki.
Netherlands vs. Poland
Friday, Sept. 4, 7:45 PM BST
At least this match comes with some real sexiness. Virgil van Dijk and Gini Wijnaldum? Yes, please. And it might even be a pretty good match up against Robert Lewandowski’s Poland to kick off Group 1 in Nations League A.
Scotland vs. Israel
Friday, Sept. 4, 7:45 PM BST
Andy Robertson will lead Scotland out against Israel in Group 2 of Nations League B. One day I will ask someone to explain the UEFA Nations League and their weird groupings to me. But today is not that day.
So, that’s your Thursday and Friday nights sorted. You can thank me later. Unless you choose to watch literally anything else, in which case I would completely understand.
