Divock Origi Move to Wolves Unlikely
So says Wolves journalist Tim Spiers.
A lack of playing time has seen cult hero Divock Origi edge closer to an exit from Liverpool FC for some time now, but COVID-19 may yet extend his stay at the club for a while more. One of the clubs constantly linked to the Belgian forward has been Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Portuguese player destination was previously linked to our big Belgian forward way back in the summer of 2018, and are currently in need of cover at striker after Raul Jimenez’s head injury at the end of November.
However, according to Wolves-connected journalist Tim Spiers, a move to the Molineux this January is unlikely. Speaking on The Molineux View podcast, Spiers explained that Liverpool’s £20m price tag was likely to get in the way of Wolves signing the forward:
But they’re in sort of like a dilemma, you know, do you go out and spend 25 million on Divock Origi, after the money they’ve spent in the summer? I don’t think there’s a huge amount available this month for a permanent deal, from what I’m told. We shouldn’t be expecting a big-money deal this month.
Divock may just have to wait until the summer in pursuit of greener pastures.
