Liverpool Set For FA Cup 4th Round Draw
Liverpool advanced with a 4-1 win over Aston Villa, and will find out their 4th round opponent on Monday
On Friday, Liverpool advanced in the FA Cup over a very young Aston Villa side 4-1. It was a much needed win after finishing 2020 with two draws, and starting 2021 with a loss to Southampton.
Liverpool will find out their next opponent when the draw for the 4th and 5th round of the FA Cup occurs at 7:10 GMT/2:10 EST. For those watching/following along, Liverpool will be ball 23 for the 4th round draw.
The 4th round matches will be played on the weekend of January 23. There will be a quick turnaround for the 5th round matches, which will be played on the week of February 8.
For players such as Georginio Wijnaldum, this is yet another opportunity for some hardware, especially as it is a trophy the current Liverpool squad has not won. For Jurgen Klopp, of course, it will mean managing workloads depending on the strength of the opposition. There are still quite a few teams from the lower divisions left in the tournament, most notably Cheltenham and Crawley from League 2, and Chorley from the non-league National League North. Unfortunately, local side Marine AFC had thier magic run out after a 5-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur. With Liverpool’s luck, however, they’ll draw a Premier League side with only the Cup left to play for (side eyes Arsenal and Chelsea).
