Harvey Elliott Gives Positive Update

The 18-year-old underwent ankle surgery on Tuesday.
Harvey Elliott continues to be a trooper. The 18-year-old Liverpool rising star saw his good start to the season derailed by an errant scissor tackle that took him out of the match and into a hospital bed. On Tuesday, it was confirmed that Elliott underwent a successful surgery, and his recovery time is better than expected.
After the surgery, Elliott took to every 18-year-old’s platform of choice - Instagram - to let fans know that he was doing alright after going under the knife.
The post is a picture of himself, smiling in his hospital bed. The caption reads:
“Operation was a success!
Thank you so much to everyone for your amazing support.
The road to recovery starts now.
At the end of the storm there’s a golden sky.
#ynwa #he67”
While the club haven’t put a timeline on when they expect Elliott to return to the pitch, they did confirm that they expect him to play a part in this season. That’s a relief and excellent news after seeing live the distressing moment when he dislocated his ankle following Pascal Struijk’s dangerous tackle.
The only thing for Liverpool fans to do now is cross their fingers that this isn’t a harbinger of another long, injury-laden season like the last one.
