Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma is said to be a potential long-term target of the Reds according to reports out of the Netherlands.

The transfer window won’t open for another three months, and when it does there are no real expectations of Liverpool making any mid-season moves with the club and manager Jürgen Klopp happy with their options for the time being at least.

That doesn’t mean they won’t be linked with players, though, and for many there will be a new name to add to the list of those the club could be interested in with reports out of the Netherlands that they’re keeping a close eye on Arnaut Danjuma.

The 24-year-old Nigerian-born Dutch international joined Villarreal this past summer for a fee of €25M and has had a solid start to life in Spain with three goals in his first six outings—at a rate of a goal every 96 minutes—for the La Liga side.

That has Voetbal International claiming Liverpool, who they say considered Danjuma based on his performances the past two seasons at Bournemouth but chose not to move for him in the end, are impressed and have him high on their recruitment lists.

Whatever Liverpool’s true interest or intent, the winger will have a chance to make a case for a potential move back to England when Villarreal take on Manchester United at Old Trafford in Champions League action on Wednesday evening.
