Jordan Henderson Frustrated With Man City Draw
It’s the second time in as many league games when Liverpool dropped a lead.
Sometimes football is annoying. Watching the Reds turn a bad half against Manchester City around in the second half only to settle for a 2-2 draw was, as an example, very annoying. A draw was a fair result based on the performances in the full game, but nonetheless, letting Mohamed Salah’s go to waste was enough to make a Reds’ fan want to tear their hair out.
This frustration was compounded by the fact that Liverpool had also dropped two points against Brentford the weekend before. In both matches, the Reds dropped leads at the end.
Jordan Henderson is one of the players on the pitch who experienced a miraculous transformation after halftime, elevating his performance for the last 45 minutes.
After the match, he expressed disappointment in the final score.
“It was an intense game – as we knew it would be,” Henderson said.
“It’s always going to be tough, City are a fantastic side. We had some good moments, not-so-good moments. But second half, I thought we reacted really well, a much better performance [in the] second half and unlucky not to probably win the game in the end. A little bit of disappointment but I thought we reacted well after coming in at half-time, because I thought we didn’t perform to the levels we’re capable of in the first half.”
The Reds remain the only unbeaten team in the league, but despite that, they now sit in second place, one point behind Chelsea because of their three draws. They’ll have to wait until October 16th against Watford to try and regain their footing.
