Liverpool Release 2024-25 Nike Home Kit (Spoiler: It’s Red)

If there’s one thing anyone who’s been watching Liverpool intently over the years knows about a new kit release, it’s that it tends to look better on the players shot with real cameras and lighting than hanging on peg somewhere in a leak taken on a phone.

It’s perhaps not a surprise, then, that this year’s new home kit—it’s red, by the way—looks rather better in its official unveiling that it did in the leaks that inevitably preceded it. Many of the issues some had surrounding its collar and neckline will remain, but draped on an actual person does at least help.

Whether that’s enough to get fans fully on board with Nike’s latest and, we now know, final offering for the club is anybody’s guess, but there are some intriguing elements in this 80s throwback kit that are noteworthy, first amongst them the YNWA pinstriping that works better than it has any right to.

There’s still the truncated collar, though, that looks more suited to a jacket than a shirt, and the heavy seam that runs across the collarbone from shoulder to shoulder and serves to cut said truncated collar off at the proverbial knees.

Sitting on a body rather than a hook or hanger, though, does at least raise those elements higher and make them a little less noticeable, and on balance the retro vibes for some may be more than enough to overcome the questionable elements and lead to a kit they can embrace.

Are you a fan? Is the kit growing on you now that you’re seeing it on the players? Does it make you happy or disappointed that this will be Nike’s final season equipping the Reds? Let us know in the poll and in the comments!
