Conor Bradley Is Looking Forward to Possible First Start of the Season
He is expected to start for the first time under Slot in the Carabao Cup game on Wednesday.
Liverpool’s talented young right-back, Conor Bradley, has already made four substitute appearances so far in this nascent season. His consistency has proven him a comfortable replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Jürgen Klopp saw it when he gave Bradley his senior debut, and Arne Slot clearly sees it as well.
On Wednesday, Bradley is set to make his first start of the season in the third round of the League Cup against West Ham. The Reds are defending their title this season after winning the competition last year.
Bradley started in the final last winter, so beginning this new run for what could be Slot’s first Liverpool trophy is exciting for him.
“Obviously winning my first trophy for the football club, just the whole day itself: the setbacks we had during the game, the Academy players coming on and helping us win it. It was a special day and it’s one I’ll never forget, definitely,” Bradley recalled.
About Wednesday’s game, Bradley admitted that he’s excited to dive back into the competition where he first debuted.
“I’m really looking forward to it. Obviously I’ve got really good memories from last year, winning it at Wembley, so I’m really looking forward to it.
“Obviously West Ham is going to be a tough game, but the boys are really up for it. I’ve not been able to start a game [yet this season], but I’m just waiting patiently for my chance and hopefully when it comes I’ll be able to take it and do the best I can.”
The team has started the season on a good run, marred only by a home defeat to Nottingham Forest a few weeks ago. Hopefully they continue their good form on Wednesday so that players like Bradley will continue to have an opportunity to shine this season.
