The French left-back expressed his admiration for the Scot’s performances over the last half-decade.

In an interview with El Correo de Andalucia, Real Betis’ 27-year-old left-back Romain Perraud expressed his admiration for Liverpool’s No. 26. The Frenchman had this to say about who he tries to emulate:

“For the last four or five years, I think the best left-back in the world is Liverpool’s Robertson. When I have time, it’s important for me to see his ability to play in this position. It’s a very, very good example.”

If and when the contracts of Van Dijk, Salah, and Alexander-Arnold are dealt with, it will be eventually time to look at the situation of folks like Robertson and Konate, who have two years left on their deal. While Robertson may have dealt with injury issues over the last season, when he’s been able to get on the pitch, he’s still one of Liverpool’s more dependable players, offering energy, precise crosses, and defensive resilience in bunches.

With Liverpool linked with Wolves’ Rayan Ait-Nouri over the summer, perhaps the plan for Robbo will be to rotate him regularly and keep his best for the games that truly matter. We’ll see.
