Curtis Jones Set to be Fit for Forest this Weekend, Chiesa Also An Option
The midfielder’s return could come in handy after some gruelling international fixtures.
According to The Athletic’s James Pearce, Liverpool FC’s Curtis Jones is back from his recent injury and is set to be in contention for this weekend’s fixture against Nottingham Forest at Anfield.
CuJo had missed the two games before the international break due to a muscle issue but has now completed his recovery programme and returned to full training yesterday.

Federico Chiesa has also taken some important strides in terms of building up his fitness as he eyes a debut.

Other significant players who stayed behind on Merseyside during the break include Joe Gomez, Darwin Nunez (due to his suspension) and new signing Federico Chiesa. The Italian has used the break to work on his fitness after agreeing with Italy head coach Luciano Spalletti that his time would be better spent settling in on Merseyside. The 26-year-old hasn’t played since Italy’s round of 16 defeat to Switzerland in the European Championship in late June and was seen training with the Under-21s.
Jones and Chiesa may very well be called into duty as the South American contingent of Alisson, Luis Diaz, and Alexis Mac Allister will be the last to report back from international duties on Thursday. Even though he played in both games, Mac Allister has been dealing with some injury issues, and with a trip to the San Siro coming up in midweek, we should expect some squad rotation to kick in.
