The Egyptian King is rewarded for a stellar start to the season.

Liverpool’s impressive start to the Arne Slot era is back on track following a rampant 3-1 win over AC Milan to open up their Champions League campaign. On Saturday, the lads welcome Bournemouth to Anfield and hope to get back to winning ways after their stumble to Nottingham Forest.

The season, as they say, moves fast and with the expansion in matches for the Champions League this year, that churn seems to move even faster. Which means it can be easy to forget just how bright August was for the Reds, which featured an absolute pasting of their biggest rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford. Those already feel like the long-gone, halcyon days with the speed at which matches are coming now.

But bringing a little bit of a reprieve - an opportunity to pause and reflect on that wonderful time - comes news from the club that the fans have voted the Egyptian King, Mohamed Salah, as the Player of the Month for the month of August. It was a tight race as the Bane of Manchester beat out a resurgent Ryan Gravenberch and his counterpart on the opposing wing, Luis Díaz. In truth, it makes sense as there were many performances to rave about in that opening frame of matches.

Now, though, the gnarly and thick part of the season comes early as Liverpool are in the middle of a run that will see them play 7 matches across all competitions in three weeks. Not only will our stars have to keep performing, but so will our bench as this will truly be a test of the Reds’ depth. Here’s hoping a few more great performers emerge, making October an equally difficult award to parse with the entire squad sharing the load in carrying Liverpool forward towards all of their season goals.
