Alexis Mac Allister highlighted Liverpool’s strength in depth ahead of their Champions League against Bologna.
Ahead of Liverpool FC’s home game against Bologna in round 2 of Champions League action, midfielder Alexis Mac Allister was keen to shine the spotlight on some of the players who haven’t played as much in the Reds’ impressive start to the season.
“You talk about me, Ryan and Dom but we have amazing players like Curtis, Endo and Harvey.”
“All of them are very important and that’s what we want, to compete between us and get better.”
Indeed, the midfield trio of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have received a lot of praise and attention for the way they’ve driven Arne Slot’s new system. However, with Szoboszlai looking like he could use some rest over the weekend, perhaps it is time for some rotation to occur in this fixture.
Curtis Jones was impressive as a substitute for Dom over the weekend. He would likely be the midfielder Slot turns to, with Elliott injured and Endo seemingly a use only if in low-stakes domestic cup competition only option.
