Another Game, Another Goal, Another Goalscoring Milestone For Mo Salah

The Egyptian King will be third on Liverpool’s all-time goalscorer’s list with his next goal for the club.

Last time out, Salah netted his 240th goal for Liverpool. Although it wasn’t enough to help The Reds to all three points, it was enough to move him one goal closer to the next Liverpool Legend on the (and his) list: Gordon Hodgson, who finished his career (in 1935) on 241 goals.

Should Salah net against Manchester City tomorrow, he will join Hodgson in the Top 3. And if not against City, it seems likely that we won’t have to wait too long for him to equal that mark at the rate he’s firing them in this season.

Salah’s next goal will also be his 30th for the season in all competitions for Liverpool, the 5th time The Egyptian King as managed that feat in his 8 seasons for Liverpool. And of course, Liverpool still have a minimum of 15 matches to go, possibly as many as 20, should Salah help fire the side to yet another Champions League final.

It’s important to appreciate Salah while he’s here, especially as the threat of him leaving this summer remains a real possibility. The man he’s about to surpass laced up his boots for Liverpool for the first time in 1926. Billy Liddell, the legend he passed earlier this season, last scored for Liverpool in 1960. Rodger Hunt, number 2 on the list (who, on 285 goals, he will definitely need to sign an extension to catch), last saw action for The Reds in 1969.

Never take what Mo is doing for granted. It’s extraordinary, and hopefully we get to see Salah banging them in for at least another season or two.
