After a nail-biting 1-0 victory in the midweek Merseyside derby, Liverpool maintained their 12 point lead in the Premier League. Their next challenge is now Fulham. The Reds travel to Craven Cottage for a Sunday afternoon kick-off, where they will be looking to build on their morale-boosting win.

The week before the March international break was a series of unfortunate events for the Reds, who saw themselves lose out on two separate trophies. Returning to the Premier League to take three points from their local rivals, despite a clearly incorrect referee decision that kept James Tarkowski on the pitch for Everton, went some ways towards mending some broken hearts. And while falling out of the Champions League and losing in the League Cup final were both tough, many fans would likely say that taking the league would make up for it.

Fulham are nestled safely at midtable, currently in 9th place. They most recently fell to Liverpool’s closest rivals, Arsenal. Having failed to help Liverpool out then, the Reds won’t want to sacrifice any of their own points at Craven Cottage.

Predicted Liverpool Lineup (4-2-3-1)

Alisson; Jones, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Jota

Who will play at right-back is the question of the day. Will it be Curtis Jones, who did well in the role against Everton? Will it be Jarell Quansah? If Conor Bradley is deemed fit, it will be him in the spot.

Another concern is Alisson Becker, who still needs to pass concussion protocol in order to play. That is likely after he sat out the derby. Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold remain out injured.

Marco Silva will be without Harry Wilson and Reiss Nelson, but otherwise ready to roll.

What the Managers Had to Say

Arne Slot: ”We felt yesterday how hard it is to win a Premier League game. It tells you that with eight games to go, every game is a challenge - starting with Fulham, who are having a very good season as well. We are not working on theories about how many points - we are taking the challenge of Fulham.”

Marco Silva: ”It’s going to be a game that demands us to be close to perfection. From our side, we need to fight really hard for the three points. We are in our own battle too. They want the three points to be closer to the title - we want our three points for our own battle.”
