Liverpool Ladies Sign England U20 Star
The Reds have completed signing Rinsola Babajide from Watford Ladies.
It’s been a quiet January for Liverpool Ladies so far: the team beat Yeovil Town Ladies FC 8-0 at the beginning of the month and then spent a while on international training breaks. But they’re ending the month with a bang, having completed the signing of England U20 striker Rinsola Babajide from Watford Ladies.
Babajide began her career at Crystal Palace Ladies and spent time at Millwall before joining Watford. The 19 year old is incredibly talented and will bring an enormous amount of creativity and speed to the team. Liverpool Ladies boss Scott Rogers was delighted about the signing and the quality that Babajide will bring to his side.
“I know that a few other clubs in FA WSL1 tried to sign Rinsola so we are delighted that she has chosen to join Liverpool Ladies,” he said. “Rinsola is also able to operate right across the forward line so this signing gives us more options as we look to strengthen the attacking area of the team.”
Babajide, a University of East London sports scholar, is equally excited to be a part of the Reds family.
“I am absolutely delighted to be joining a Club as big as Liverpool Ladies and cannot wait to get started,” Babajide said. “This is a huge opportunity for me to make the step up to FA WSL1 and I am really excited to meet my new teammates.”
“I have really enjoyed my time at Watford Ladies, but this is a massive opportunity for me to join a huge club who have established international players throughout the squad. I am really excited about the move and can’t wait to pull on the red shirt for the first time.”
Liverpool Ladies will be back in action against Bristol City Women on January 27th.
