Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold Fit to Face Crystal Palace

Despite injury concerns, both were in training today, as was Dejan Lovren.

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp received good news today when Andrew Robertson was deemed fit enough to take part in training ahead of Saturday’s match against Crystal Palace despite coming off in the second half of Scotland’s friendly against Hungary on Tuesday.

In the end it turned out Robertson had only suffered a dead leg, and Liverpool’s medical staff cleared the left back quickly after he returned to the club. Dejan Lovren, having recently suffered an ankle injury, has also been declared fully fit and match ready.

Meanwhile, there were concerns—at least amongst Liverpool fans—when Trent Alexander-Arnold didn’t play against Ukraine on Tuesday with the England U21s, but with the young right back in training today it is been reported he was simply given the match off.

The news isn’t nearly as good for Joe Gomez or Emre Can, though, with Gomez expected to miss at least the next two weeks and perhaps as long as a month with an ankle injury suffered with the senior England squad during Friday’s friendly against Netherlands.

And while Can isn’t expected out for that long, his timeframe for a return after suffering an unspecified back injury while off on duty with the Germany national team is up in the air—with about the only certainty being that he won’t face Palace on Saturday.

In Can’s case, the hope will be for a return in time to at least make the bench against Manchester City on Wednesday, and if he is it would make Gomez the only first team player unavailable—with Nathaniel Clyne potentially ready to replace him in the squad.
