Hull City still after Harry Wilson

Hull City remain keen to bring Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson back to the club this summer after his impressive loan spell last season, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

Wilson scored seven goals for the Tigers and played a crucial role in their ultimate survival.

Jurgen Klopp has handed the Welshman very few opportunities to impress at Anfield, but is expected to assess his credentials ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Wilson could be given a chance to showcase his abilities in Liverpool’s pre-season fixtures, the first of which takes place at Chester on Saturday.

Hull boss Nigel Adkins reportedly determined to resign the 21-year-old, though it is understood Liverpool will not sanction a permanent move.

Wilson will not be short of suitors if indeed he is told to seek another temporary departure following his eye-catching spell in the Championship.

However, clubs could find it difficult to strike a deal given the Reds’ financial demands. Last summer, for instance, Hull’s loan move for Ryan Kent fell through because they refused to pay the loan fee required.

Should Wilson remain at the club, he will be expected to serve as cover for starting wingers Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Liverpool are indeed keen to bolster their attacking depth in the window, hence their reported pursuit of Stoke City’s Xherdan Shaqiri.
