Mohamed Salah suggests he will continue playing for Egypt

Mohamed Salah has suggested he will keep on playing for Egypt despite reports suggesting he is contemplating quitting the national side.

There has been noise that suggested Salah may quit Egypt for a number of different reasons, but his latest update on Twitter suggests he will continue playing providing there is some change to how the national side functions.

Board member Essam Abdel Fattah told Goal that the claims Salah would be quitting international football were not true.

“This is a big lie,” said Fattah.

“Nothing like this is true and I wonder how CNN are reporting these things.”

Salah has returned from the World Cup and gone on holiday to Lebanon after Egypt were knocked out of the group stage. He scored two goals in three games despite not being at his fittest.

It was a tough finish to the season for Salah. His time on the pitch was limited in the Champions League final after he injured his shoulder, and it also had a big impact on his World Cup in a negative sense limiting his preparation and his overall ability to be at his fittest.
