‘Reds could rival Everton in Zaha chase’

Liverpool could compete with local rivals Everton for the signature of Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, according to Goal‘s Neil Jones.
Zaha played a crucial part in Palace’s successful survival bid last term, scoring nine league goals and setting up a further five in an injury-disrupted campaign.
The player would reportedly consider leaving Selhurst Park if he receives an attractive offer.
However, Zaha is under contract until 2022 and it is understood that Crystal Palace will attempt to ward off potential suitors with a whopping £50million price tag.
New Everton boss Marco Silva has identified the Ivory Coast international as a top target, but, according to Jones, the Toffees expect Liverpool to rival them if they submit a formal offer.

Tottenham Hotspur could also enter the race, along with fellow Champions League outfit Borussia Dortmund.
Liverpool are set to complete the signing of Xherdan Shaqiri to bolster their attacking depth but Zaha remains an attractive option given his versatility.
He can play on either wing, behind the striker and even slot in as a centre-forward himself.
Zaha has been mooted as a Reds target for a number of years, but for the moment it is they likely they are merely keeping tabs on his situation rather than lining up a bid.
