Mohamed Salah not on Real Madrid’s radar

Real Madrid’s interest in Mohamed Salah appears to have cooled and the forward is not currently being considered as a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Salah was arguably the best player in Europe last season, netting a record 32 goals in 38 Premier League games following his summer arrival from Roma.

Inevitably, his sensational form caught the eye of Real, with persistent rumours of a big-money move from the turn of the year onwards.

And after talisman Ronaldo sealed a move to Juventus, Real are now believed to be in the market for their next ‘Galactico’.

Salah recently extended his Liverpool contract, but that was not enough to assuage all concerns, given that Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez have in the past been lured to La Liga shortly after penning new deals.

However, it is understood that Real’s top targets are PSG wonderkid Kylian Mbappe, former Barcelona winger Neymar and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.

The Echo‘s Ian Doyle suggests that the current silence on the Salah to Real front indicates that Los Blancos accepted Liverpool’s insistence that the player was not for sale at any price.

Julen Lopetegui’s side have also been tentatively linked with Sadio Mane, but the Reds are expected to tie down the Senegalese international when he returns to Melwood.
