Simon Mignolet stay confirmed

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Simon Mignolet is set to stay at Liverpool, despite the Belgian wanting a move this summer.

Mignolet has publicly stated he is unhappy at Liverpool and wants to play minutes, but Klopp confirmed the Belgian will not be going anywhere this summer.

“He will not leave today, of course not. In general, discussing your individual problems in public doesn’t make too much sense, it’s better you speak to each other. But it was still okay. He’s a human being,” said Klopp.

Klopp also made it clear that he was not happy with the Belgian speaking to a newspaper and stating his unhappiness.

“Discussing your individual problems in public doesn’t make too much sense. It was still okay. If he was happy to be a No 2 then I wouldn’t know him – he’s a top professional,” said Klopp.

“If you want to say something, say it to me directly than to a newspaper.”
