Southampton and Crystal Palace Reportedly Lead Race For Ings.
The two Premier League clubs can split him, I guess.
For all the Liverpool fans hoping for “one more,” the most likely outcome of tomorrow’s deadline day will be one (or more) outgoings. One of the most likely outgoings remains Danny Ings, a Premier League quality striker who is surplus to requirements at Liverpool.
For several weeks it appeared as if Crystal Palace would take yet another striker off our hands, but now it appears that Southampton are in with a chance. At least that’s the word floating around several less-than-reliable sources. Liverpool are reportedly holding out for around £20 million, which isn’t bad business for a player that Liverpool got for a £6.5 million tribunal fee in 2015, and has scored 3 goals in 14 senior appearances since then.
Hopefully Liverpool can get this one sorted before the window closes. Ings has tried hard, but had terrible luck since making the move to Merseyside, suffering consecutive season-ending knee injuries and being largely forgotten as the club made steady progress under Jurgen Klopp.
