Double injury blow for Spurs ahead of Liverpool clash

Tottenham will be without goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and attacker Dele Alli for Saturday’s crunch clash with Liverpool at Wembley, according to reports. Lloris is out with a thigh problem and Alli has a hamstring issue picked up during international duty for England last week.

Lloris, who was handed a 20-month ban from driving and a £50,000 fine after pleading guilty to drink-driving, was replaced with Michel Vorm in Tottenham’s last game, a 2-1 loss to Watford. The French international goalkeeper is expected to be out of action for a few weeks, giving Vorm more time between the sticks for Spurs.

Alli played the full 90 minutes for England in the 2-1 loss to Spain at Wembley in their Nations League opening game. The 22-year-old didn’t feature against Switzerland a few days later and had to leave England’s training came early. Son Heung-Min will undoubtedly be drafted back into the starting XI after almost a month away with the South Korean national squad.

The news will rock Spurs and manager Pochettino ahead of their crucial match with Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp will be looking to make it five from five against Spurs on Saturday lunchtime as Liverpool aim to keep their unbeaten season on track.
