Salah’s Brighton strike voted Reds’ Goal of the Month
Mohamed Salah’s superb side-footed finish in Liverpool’s 1-0 win against Brighton has been voted the club’s Goal of the Month for August.
Liverpool scored seven Premier League goals in the first month of the season, having netted eight across their final two friendlies against Napoli and Torino.
Salah’s goal against the Seagulls, his second of the season, was selected as the pick of the bunch.
James Milner snatched possession from a hesitant Yves Bissouma midway through the Brighton half and slid it to Sadio Mane, who quickly found Roberto Firmino. Firmino then fed Salah on the right-hand edge of the penalty area, with the Egyptian expertly stroking the ball in off the far post with his first touch.

In second place was another Salah strike, this time his perfectly-placed, though close-range, curling effort in the 5-0 win against Napoli in Dublin.
Alberto Moreno’s powerful drive, which completed the rout, took third place.
Fourth was Salah’s tap-in from Andrew Robertson’s driven cross to open the scoring against West Ham on the opening weekend.
And Salah was the creator of the goal which rounded out the top five, Sadio Mane’s ice-cool finish against Crystal Palace at the end of a fine late counter-attack.
The Egyptian may be called upon to produce some more magic in September, with huge games against Spurs, PSG and Chelsea on the horizon.
