Benitez interested in January move for Solanke or Origi

Former Liverpool and current Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is interested in signing Divock Origi or Dominic Solanke in the January transfer window.

According to the Chronicle, Benitez maintains strong connections with a number of European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Liverpool, and is said to have enquired about the availability of Origi and Solanke.

Origi has been heavily linked with Galatasary and Everton as Liverpool look to secure a permanent deal for him. Solanke, who hasn’t featured this season for the Reds, is more likely to go out on loan to get some regular playing time under his belt.

This presents a problem, however, for Newcastle, who have already taken Kenedy and Salomon Rondon on loan this season and can only bring in players on a permanent basis.

It could be more likely that Benitez will approach foreign clubs for loan signings, as he would be less restricted in this area.  At this stage, the 58-year-old manager is enquiring about players rather than firming up his interest.

Jurgen Klopp would undoubtedly be open to the prospect of Origi in particular moving on in January as the Belgian is currently getting little to no game time at Liverpool.
