Mignolet not thinking about Liverpool future despite lack of game time

Simon Mignolet insists he is not thinking about his Liverpool future despite his game time being limited this season.

The Belgian international has not made a league appearance for the Reds since January 1, when he featured in a 2-1 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor.

Mignolet was set on a move away from the Reds during the summer but the situation changed when Loris Karius departed the club for Besiktas in the summer and Brazilian Alisson Becker joined the club for a £67m.

Speaking on his future, Mignolet said: “I will go back to Liverpool and work hard.

“We have got the Huddersfield game to prepare for and I will always be there for the team.

“That’s the only thing I can do at this moment. I am not thinking about my future at this moment in time.

“The only thing I can do is wait for my chance and work hard in training. I always try and be ready if I am playing or not playing.

“I always prepare myself in the same manner and when the opportunity comes along you have to grasp it.”
