Sadio Mané Fit and Expected to Face Red Star Belgrade

The Liverpool winger is back in training and is likely to start in the Champions League.
For Liverpool, the October international break felt as though it was one injury update after another. Fortunately, aside from Naby Keïta and Sadio Mané, most of the knocks picked up ended up being minor and the players were all ready to go against Huddersfield.
Jürgen Klopp still chose to rest and rotate a few of his stars—and Liverpool were in the end fortunate to get all three points against Huddersfield—but, for the most part, those fears of a major injury crisis in the end turned out to have been at least mildly exaggerated.
And on that front there’s more good news for Klopp and the club today, with Mané being declared fit to face Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Wednesday as one of the team’s two remaining key injured players was back training with his teammates.
That still leaves Keïta up in the air—he hasn’t been ruled out entirely yet, and if the club has the results of his recent hamstring scan the details aren’t being shared, but with the player not back in training even a best case scenario wouldn’t see him ready for Red Star.
On the whole, though, it’s good news on the injury front and an almost fully fit squad for the mid-week tie, the first of two back-to-back Champions League group stage games against Red Star, with Liverpool set to head to Belgrade for the return date next Tuesday.
