£70million Christian Pulisic deal possible for summer 2019

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly open to accepting a £70million deal for attacker Christian Pulisic, according to the Telegraph.

However, there’s a catch – the American must remain at the German club until the summer.

Both Liverpool and Chelsea are very keen to snap up the Dortmund star, whose contract expires in 2020, but his current club are refusing to sell him in January and insist that he will only be allowed to leave in the summer window.

Many consider Liverpool to be favourites to sign Pulisic given his links to Jurgen Klopp during his time as Dortmund manager, but Chelsea may be more willing to meet his huge price tag as the departure of Eden Hazard appears more likely with each passing week.

In the wake of Chelsea’s defeat to Tottenham at the weekend, Hazard said: “We are thinking about finishing in the top four, not to be the champions. We know (Manchester) City are not much better than Chelsea but they are better at the moment.

“In what areas are City better? A lot of things: possession; when they have chances, they score; maybe defensively they are better. They have top players.

“Is it due to their consistency as well, winning game after game? Yes, of course. They are in a good momentum since last year and we need to be back like this.”

Pulisic is also being monitored closely by Paris Saint-Germain, so any potential move for the 20-year-old by any club will undoubtedly spark a bidding war in the summer.
