Jurgen Klopp gives Naby Keita time to adjust to life in the Premier League
Jurgen Klopp has sent a message of support to Naby Keita as the Guinean looks to get his Liverpool career off the ground after his injury struggles since the start of the season.
When the club’s official wesbite confirmed last year that Keita would be joining the club this season, the following 12 months were filled with anticipation, with fans watching the midfielder’s career highlights on YouTube as they dreamt of him in a Red shirt.
Since his £52million move from RB Leipzig, he has struggled somewhat as injury and a lack of consistent game time ruled out the chance for the explosive start that some had predicted. He was superb on the first day of the Premier League season against West Ham but since then fans have gone wanting to an extent.
As Keita makes his return from a hamstring injury, Klopp gives his new signing his backing to succeed but insists that although there is work for him to do, the 23-year-old has a long contract with Liverpool and has time to adjust to the Premier League.

“His start was really good and then average. That’s how it is,” Klopp said in his pre-match conference.
“I watched his game [for Guinea] and seen a yellow surface. It was a bouncy game. He came back tired.
“There are three stops on the way back so that’s not cool. He trained yesterday and was completely fine. Naby can improve and learn the language but it’s a long-term project. We will use him.
“Short-term, long-term, future. How it looks in the moment, hopefully, it stays together and you will see them all. We want them in the best shape they can be and to get the points for us.”
