Keita and Henderson Fit For International Duty, Liverpool ‘In Talks’ Over Gomez

Jurgen Klopp admits Liverpool is discussing keeping the young center back home.
Following Liverpool’s comfortable 2-0 win over Fulham at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, Jurgen Klopp admitted that the team is discussing with England to keep Joe Gomez home from the national team’s upcoming Friendlies.
“We are talks about Joe but Hendo is fit.” Klopp said in his press conference. “I cannot make decisions for the international managers.”
The young defender battled this week over his fitness, with a chance that he might not be able to play against Fulham. Those worries were subsided as Gomez played all 90 minutes on Sunday, but it sounds like the Reds manager has lingering concerns over Gomez’s long term fitness. Liverpool’s challenge for the title and their campaign in the Champions League has been far from easy on the defender. We’ll see in the coming days whether or not Gomez will get some time off.
Klopp also answered questions regarding the fitness of the other internationals in his squad. “It’s good for Keita. Guinea play one game. He is fit.” He said. “Most our players have one game so they train then play. At least Brazil play in England. If a player is fit, they go.”
Hopefully it’s a relaxing international break for Liverpool’s player and they return to the team healthy.
