Klopp: Lovren and Matip in contention for more game time

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that both Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip will have opportunities to break their way back into his starting XI ahead of tomorrow night’s clash with Red Star Belgrade.
Both defenders feature in Liverpool’s 21-man travelling squad for the Champions League clash on Tuesday, and may get the chance to start alongside Virgil van Dijk if Klopp chooses to rest Joe Gomez, who has been in great form this season.
Klopp spoke to LiverpoolFC.com during the flight to Serbia and praised the attitudes of Lovren and Matip during the campaign so far.

“It’s all good,” Klopp said.
“Dejan had a very intense year – then he had the World Cup after a very good season for us. After the World Cup he came back injured and had no pre-season. He needed to train.
“Since then he is stepping in. He is doing really well. Dejan had games and will have games.
“The harder thing is Joel. He is in a very good shape. He had a difficult last year as well. He came back and could do most of the pre-season.
“That’s how the situation is: it’s not forever, it’s always in the moment. You have to use moments and stuff like that. The boys have reacted pretty well so far but I didn’t expect anything different.”
Both centre-backs will hope to feature tomorrow night as Liverpool look to strengthen their position in Group C.
