Official: Liverpool Youth Joins Kilmarnock on Loan
Liam Miller, a 19-year-old academy forward, signed a new deal and headed out on loan.
So far, Lazar Markovic and Ben Woodburn remain at Anfield and there are still no new incomings on the horizon, but one player at least will be heading out before the January transfer window slams shut.
That’s because the club have announced this afternoon that 19-year-old forward and Canadian international Liam Miller is heading to Scottish side Kilmarnock on loan for the rest of the 2018-19 season.
Miller, whose contract had been set to expire in the summer, signed a new deal before completing his loan move, and while that loan is hardly the flashiest of transfers, it should at least mean senior minutes.
For those not keeping up with the football up in Scotland, Kilmarnock are level on points with Rangers—though they sit third in the table thanks to goal differential. They are six back of leaders Celtic.
For Miller, then—who has four caps for his country—that means not just minutes but an outside chance at a title challenge under manager Steve Clarke, Kenny Dalglish’s assistant at Liverpool in 2011.
