Sadio Mane praises ‘excellent’ PSG forward Kylian Mbappe

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane praised Kylian Mbappe while talking to the French press but also cautioned PSG against going into Wednesday’s Champions League clash taking a win for granted.

As one of football’s fastest rising stars, Mbappe has forged himself a fantastic reputation over the last three years, with his incredible pace and eye for goal earning him a huge money move to PSG last summer.

Over the summer just past, the teenager helped France win the World Cup and won the FIFA World Cup Best Young Player Award for his performances in Russia and Sadio Mane has praised him ahead of Liverpool’s clash with PSG.

The Senegal international also cautioned PSG against taking a win on Wednesday for granted as the Reds are always capable of beating the big boys in Europe.

“Kylian Mbappe is an excellent player, he has progressed so fast,” Mane told Telefoot – via Goal – ahead of the vital encounter. “This is good for the French national team.

“He gave you the World Cup this summer. It’s so good for you.

“It’s an important game [against PSG]. Neymar, Mbappe, Cavani… even defensively, they are really impressive.”

After Liverpool won late against PSG at Anfield thanks to a sublime finish from Roberto Firmino, Mane believes his side has a great chance of winning in Paris even if the Ligue 1 leaders pose a veritable threat to the Reds’ chances of qualifying for the Round of 16.

“Our team ethic is fantastic,” Mane added. “Everything we do, we do it together. That’s why we are very strong. It will not be easy against Paris, but with Liverpool, everything is possible.”
