Liverpool were reportedly on the brink of signing Anderlecht winger in the summer
Sport/Foot Magazine have claimed that Liverpool were in very advanced negotiations to sign Anderlecht youngster Jeremy Doku in the summer.
16-year-old Doku is the eighth youngest player in Anderlecht’s history, and has caught the eyes of many top clubs with a number of impressive performances this season for the Belgian side.
Sport/Foot report that Liverpool were extremely keen on signing the teenager last summer, as well as making an approach in January.
The winger eventually signed a new deal with the club, that will see him earn between €500k and €1m depending on bonuses.

The Belgian publication reports that Liverpool were willing to double that salary, with talks at a very advanced stage.
They go on to state that Anderlecht’s owner, Marc Coucke, stepped in personally to prevent the talented attacker from leaving his side at such a young age.
Couke went on to offer the Belgian youth international a monster deal in perspective, re-signing him to the club on professional terms for three years.
Had Doku moved to Anfield, he would’ve likely been integrated straight into the under-18s team.
Doku’s Anderlecht currently sit fourth in the Belgian Pro League.
