Roberto Firmino explains difference between Christmas in Germany compared to England

Roberto Firmino has stated that he has had to adapt to the football calendar around the Christmas period since signing for Liverpool back in 2015.

Firmino, who arrived on Merseyside from Hoffenheim, never played football over the Christmas period for the Bundesliga outfit as the league stops in Germany.

Despite having to adapt, he does not have an issue playing over this period of the year though, as he loves playing for the Anfield faithful.

“For me, Christmas in England is very different from the one I lived in Brazil, for lots of reasons – on the pitch and off it,” Firmino said, as reported by The Mirror.

“But I’ve been here since 2015 and I’ve already got used to playing on these dates.

“When I played in Germany the league stopped, but here it is played so the fans can enjoy Christmas better.

“I don’t mind that at all it because we play for them.”
