Jermaine Jenas does not believe Liverpool will remain unbeaten in the Premier League

Pundit Jermaine Jenas does not believe Liverpool will remain unbeaten for the entirety of the 2018-19 Premier League season.

The Reds are flying at the minute having not lost in any of the opening 18 fixtures of the Premier League.

They are also four points clear at the top of the table, with Manchester City sitting in second.

Despite Liverpool’s sensational start, Jenas believes Jurgen Klopp’s side will lose a match at some point of the campaign.

“Well obviously the feeling is that Liverpool look like they possibly could go unbeaten for the rest of the season,” he said on BT Sport.

“Obviously they’ve got the game on January 3 which could be pivotal.

“There’s so much that’s going to be changing throughout the rest of the season.

“Regardless of what they look like now, there’s injuries and stuff that could be coming.”

Jenas went on to say that it is not impossible for the Reds to go unbeaten, but he pointed to the fact that everyone thought the same regarding Manchester City last season, meaning it is unlikely.

“It’s not unrealistic (for Liverpool to go unbeaten),” he added.

“Because of the standards that they’ve set and the way that they are playing.

“We felt this about Manchester City last year and they fell just short of it and I feel like the same will probably happen to Liverpool at some point.

“It might be a weird game that catches them out, it might not be the obvious one.

“I do believe there will be a game where they do get beat this year.”
