Liverpool enter into negotiations to sign highly-rated £35million midfielder
Liverpool have reportedly opened talks for Brescia’s Sandro Tonali with £35million the asking price.
The young Italian has been lauded as the ‘next Pirlo’ and, with several leading European clubs sending scouts to watch him play in Serie B, could take the next step and join a big club in the summer.
As Massimo Cellino revealed recently, Liverpool are interested in Tonali and approached Brescia over the 18-year-old’s availability but the Reds have apparently escalated their interest and have opened talks to sign him.

Gazzetto Dello Sport’s Nicolo Schira reports that Liverpool have opened talks for Tonali and that Brescia are asking for £35million – around the same fee that Timo Werner might go for in the summer.
If negotiations are successful he would join the club next season but Liverpool will face stiff competition from Roma, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter.
Meanwhile, with three days remaining in the January transfer window, it’s clear that Jurgen Klopp wasn’t fooling the media when he said that he wouldn’t be making any signings for the first team with young Billy Koumetio the only incoming for the club.
