New contract offer could make signing German forward a lot more difficult
RB Leipzig have made a final offer to Timo Werner in an attempt to keep him at the club and fend off the biggest clubs in Europe and have included in it a clause that says the likes of Liverpool must pay at least £61million to sign him.
The German forward would be an incredible steal if sporting director Michael Edwards is able to sign him for his rumoured £36million summer price tag.
As the Reds are well aware of after their dealings with RBL when they negotiated a deal to sign Naby Keita, the Bundesliga club can be very difficult to deal with but with Werner’s contract expiring next year, they are in a risky position.

According to Bild, RB Leipzig have offered Werner a final contract potentially worth £100,000 per week that includes a clause that will make him very expensive for Europe’s leading club’s.
The German news outlet claims that for the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man City, PSG, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Liverpool, a release clause will apply where Werner will only be allowed to leave if these clubs pay at least €70million (£61m).
Given that the prolific 22-year-old has shown no intention of signing the previous offers RB Leipzig have made, it seems very unlikely he will put pen to paper with their latest especially with just 18 months left on his deal with the Bundesliga outfit.
