Bayern Munich receive massive injury boost ahead of Liverpool encounter
Manuel Neuer says he expects to be fit enough to start in goal when Bayern Munich travel to Anfield in a week’s time and is excited to play at Anfield and experience its unique atmosphere.
The German has been an injury concern for the Bundesliga giants over the last couple weeks with reports from his homeland going so far as to suggest that he might have torn ligaments supporting his thumb and would require surgery.
However, as he has been in training albeit using only his feet, it looks as though the injury to his hand is not quite as serious as some had previously indicated.

“I am fine, it’s not that bad,” Neuer told ESPN. “I think our medical [staff] will push me into goal and if everything is fine in training, I will play [against Liverpool].
“We are all positive. I think I will be between the sticks. It’s the first game for me at Anfield, I’m looking forward to playing there.
“We have heard a lot about the atmosphere in the stadium—everyone who watches football knows it’s special—and I think they will be two great games.”
