Rumor Mongering: Liverpool Planning Marko Grujic’s Future

Grujic may extend with Hertha Berlin, or not, depending on European qualification.

Liverpool, at the moment, have several high-profile loans throughout Europe. The top two, at least in terms of excitement and interest to Liverpool fans, are probably Marko Grujic’s loan to Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga, and Harry Wilson’s to Derby County in the Championship.

Now, according to German publication Bild, Berlin is interested in extending Grujjic’s loan into next season. However, the publication goes on to report, that Liverpool are only keen on loaning him out to a side that is competing in Europe. And of course all of this is assuming that the reporting is true and not made up out of whole cloth.

Hertha Berlin are currently in 9th place, three points and three places back of Wolfsburg in the final Europa League qualification spot. The 22-year-old has 2 goals in 10 league appearances, and has apparently impressed as of late (hence the alleged desire to keep him).

So, Grujic might have another loan spell next season. It might be with Hertha Berlin. Unless they don’t qualify for Europe, in which case it will be with another club. Unless the Bild report is just total bullshit.

Clear as mud, really.
