Brighton midfielder “honoured” by Liverpool link

Brighton’s Pascal Gross is “honoured” to have been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer, according to reports.

Jurgen Klopp has apparently picked out Gross as a potential midfield target for the Reds after the German’s solid season with Brighton.

Klopp also knew of Gross when he was manager of Borussia Dortmund and the midfielder was plying his trade for Ingolstadt.

“Of course it is an honour when such rumours arise,” said Gross, when asked about Liverpool’s interest.

“But I have not heard anything concrete.”

Speaking of a potential call up to the German national squad, he added: “Of course, the national team is a dream of mine, but I have never had contact with national coach Joachim Low.

“It is certain that I will come back to Germany at some point.

“Maybe I’ll end my career in Neckarau. That’s my club, after all.”
