Klopp on why Liverpool are still firmly in the title race

jurgen klopp

Jurgen Klopp has vowed that his Liverpool side will stay positive as their title challenge enters its final run-in stage.

Manchester City retained top spot in the Premier League after the Reds drew another blank against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, with the goalless draw leaving Klopp’s side in second place, one point behind City.

However, the German manager refuses to give up hope that the Reds can claim the title come the end of the campaign, during which they have suffered only one Premier League loss so far.

“We are positive – how couldn’t we be positive?” Klopp told LiverpoolFC.com in the wake of the Merseyside Derby draw.

“There is a lot to come and a lot of games to play. What brought us here was the stability the boys showed. We are difficult to beat, which is very important in football. And we created, still, in difficult games, which is very important in football.

“Then you have to finish them off, which we did very often but not [at Everton].

“The dynamic [at the top of the table] changed a little bit – now we are second, they are first.

“The season is not over and we will not give up.”
