Jose Enrique given all-clear from brain tumour
Former Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique has been given the all-clear after undergoing brain surgery to remove a tumour.
The 33-year-old was diagnosed with chordoma, a tumour which normally grows in the base of the skull and spine. His, however, had appeared behind his eye and he ran the risk of losing his sight.
However, the Spaniard posted a video on Instagram this week revealing the good news that he was finally tumour-free.

“So guys, today I have received the best news!” Enrique said in the video. “My surgeon Dr Simal has called me up after receiving my recent MRI results. He has confirmed and given me the all clear! The area is clean.”
Enrique made 127 appearances for Newcastle before joining Liverpool for £6million in 2011.
He played 99 times for the Reds before being released in May 2016 – he joined Real Zaragoza but retired the following year following a chronic knee injury.
