Klopp hopeful Van Dijk injury isn’t serious
Jurgen Klopp hopes an injury sustained by Virgil van Dijk in the closing stages of Liverpool’s dramatic 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur yesterday is not too serious.
The Dutchman ran into Moussa Sissoko after staving off a two-on-one counter attack by Spurs which could have killed off both the game and the Reds’ title chances if they’d scored.
A late own-goal by Toby Alderweireld won the game for Liverpool, and Klopp hopes his commanding centre-back will be fit for the Reds’ next fixture.

“We have to see,” Klopp said. “I asked him and I think it was in the counter-attack situation when Sissoko hit him… I don’t know if he twisted it or it is a knock.
“He was walking to the interviews with a big ice pack. I hope it’s nothing serious but I don’t know yet.”
