Landlord Brendan Rodgers on having Jurgen Klopp as a tenant

Brendan Rodgers responded to Jurgen Klopp’s joke comment about withholding rent by describing the German as a “very good tenant.”

The current Liverpool boss rents his home from the former Reds manager on Merseyside.

And Rodgers, who last took the Reds close to a title win in 2014, revealed that he’s had no problems with Klopp since his arrival in Liverpool.

On renting his house to Klopp, Rodgers said: “I don’t think it’s a secret,” said Rodgers of having Klopp as a tenant. “I think that’s been well documented.

“He’s a funny guy, but he’s been a very good tenant I have to say.

“I don’t need to keep an eye on him, he always pays up on time, he’s very good.”

Rodgers was responding to comments made by Klopp earlier, in which the Reds boss joked that he would withhold rent from his landlord if Leicester fail to take points off Manchester City.

“Can I?” Klopp said. “In Germany that’s not possible, but if it’s possible in England then tell me.

“They have to do their own job themselves and we have to do ours.

“I really have no problem with that. I’m really happy about the situation.”
