De Ligt to Liverpool speculation intensifies as player admits to uncertain future

Liverpool target Matthijs de Ligt admits that he hasn’t yet decided where he’ll play football next season, according to the Echo.
The 19-year-old Ajax captain has been the subject of intense transfer speculation after his side enjoyed a memorable and ultimately heartbreaking run to the Champions League semi-finals.
And with Anfield a potential destination for next season, the centre-back has revealed that he’s still up in the air about where he’ll next end up.

“Has it been my last game at the Johan Cruyff Arena? I do not know yet,” De Ligt said.
“There are conversations, but there is still no agreement. With who? The newspapers write, so choose one yourself.”
Earlier in the season, De Ligt also revealed that he would love to play alongside international teammate Virgil van Dijk at a club some day.
“Virgil (van Dijk) is a player who has experience in the top leagues,” he said.
“Of course, you would want to learn from him. It’s very helpful playing alongside him in the Dutch team.
“It could happen. He plays for Liverpool, a good club, but I’m not focused on them.”
