Ruben Neves responds to Liverpool transfer speculation

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves has admitted that he’s proud to be linked to Liverpool, reports have suggested.

The Portugal international arrived at Molineux from Porto in 2017 for £16million and has proved to be a big success so far for the club.

And now, with his solid performances catching the eye of top clubs, Neves has broken his silence on reports linking him with a switch to Anfield.

“It is obvious that it is a pride to be able to take the name of Portugal further, for that is the goal,” Neves said.

He went on to confirm that he won’t discuss any transfers while the National League title is still within Portugal’s grasp.

“But it is not the moment to think about the future, we have a competition to win. We are focused on the next game with Switzerland (the semi-final),” he added.

It remains to be seen whether or not Liverpool will firm up their reported interest in the midfielder this summer.
