Liverpool reportedly not planning on moving for De Ligt

Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool are not planning on making any move for Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt this summer, according to the Echo.

The 19-year-old has become hot property since his superb showing for Ajax in their Champions League run this season.

Liverpool had been heavily linked with a move for him, with reports emerging just this morning that Anfield officials were in talks over a potential deal.

However, the Echo have now claimed that Jurgen Klopp will not make a move for De Ligt after all and is content with his centre-back options going forward, with Joel Matip forming a solid partnership with Virgil van Dijk and both Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren ready to compete for places.

They add that Liverpool have denied entering negotiations for the De Ligt and “are not trying to secure” his services.
