Liverpool Starlet Announces Club Departure

As expected, young winger Bobby Adekanye is leaving the club.
Four years ago, Bobby Adekanye joined Liverpool’s academy from Barcelona. Now, the 20-year-old Nigerian-Dutch winger is departing the club in search of a clearer path to first team football.
Adekanye took to social media today to tell people that, as had been expected in recent months, he would be leaving Liverpool.
“Four years ago when I arrived I was still a child,” he said. “Now, I leave as a man and I take with me a new family. It’s not easy to find the right words for everything Liverpool FC has given to me. I don’t know how or when, but I’m sure that our ways will meet again some day.”
Having spent his earliest footballing years in Ajax’s youth system, Adekanye joined Barca’s La Masia as a highly rated 12-year-old and spent a season back in the Netherlands with PSV before eventually leaving La Masia to join Liverpool in 2015.
He has not announced which club he will be joining next but speculation in recent months has Lazio as his primary suitors and most likely destination.
If he does in fact join the Serie A side—or any other club outside of England—Liverpool will receive training compensation likely to amount to a few hundred thousand Euros.
