Reds miss out on £5million windfall by reaching Champions League final
Liverpool missed out on a £5million windfall by progressing to the Champions League final, according to the Mail.
The Reds overturned a 3-0 deficit to knock Barcelona out of the semi-finals on Tuesday and book their place with Tottenham in the final on June 1.
However, their heroic actions has at least one negative consequence.

As part of the Philippe Coutinho deal struck in January 2018, Liverpool would have been awarded an additional £5million if the La Liga giants had reached the Champions League final.
As a result of their stunning comeback, they are now ineligible to receive that additional cash. They will, however, get at least £13million for reaching the final themselves, a sum which could rise to £16.5million if they win the game.
Coutinho, who was ineffectual during both legs of the semi-final and was subbed off in each game, has just five goals and two assists in 33 matches this season.
Reports have also emerged today that Barcelona will actively look to sell him this summer.
